SUPACHILL AND TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY
ANNOUNCE JOINT PARTNERSHIP
- NEW FOOD CENTER

A one-of-a-kind international center, bringing together food industry leaders from around the globe will soon be open in Lubbock, Texas.

For the first time, a new partnership between Texas Tech University and Supachill USA, Inc. will allow for scientific research to be coupled with a private industry. University officials say this is an exciting opportunity for Texas Tech to work with an international company in an effort to commercialize their research operations. This unique partnership will allow the university to receive royalty money based on new research findings and their implementation into the marketplace.

The partnership, "The International Center for Food Industry Excellence" will bring together experts in the areas of meat science, food technology, food processing, food safety, packaging and marketing. This concept makes the center the only one of its kind in the United States with services provided across the globe.

The scientists will have the unique opportunity to work in collaboration on many of the major food safety and processing problems currently effecting the food industry as a whole. The experts will have available the unique Supachill cooling and freezing technology which is scientifically proven to minimize cellular damage in food products.

The International Center for Food Industry Excellence will tackle issues such as decreasing food pathogens or eliminating warmed over flavoring for food products. The ICFIE and its industry experts will offer to the food industry solutions to existing problems, innovative technologies and new product ideas through individual initiatives.

Already the Center for Food Industry Excellence is in discussions with leading retailers of home meal replacements in the United States and Europe. The Center promises to be a nationally and internationally recognized center of innovation and product excellence with a very strong foothold in the multi-billion dollar food industry.

The Center will employ industry specialists and offer Texas Tech personnel and students the opportunity to obtain experience in a commercial setting. The ICFIE will be housed at Supachill Centre in Lubbock, Texas. Projected opening date of the new center is scheduled for sometime in January.
